US objection to gene patenting: USPTO and Myriad in the spotlight

An action organized by the American Civil Liberties Union has been filed in a New York federal court, challenging the USPTO's policy of allowing patents for human genes generally, and specifically Myriad's patents relating to the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes.
